Jameson Piedimonte - Rest in Peace

We lost a comrade today. Jameson will be missed by everyone who knew him. Gone way too young. Here is portrait he took of The Icarus Line. Goodbye my friend.

Slow Death Drums

The Icarus Line got together to do a session with good man Greg Gordon recently. We draped the BlackSpade um17's around the kit in a Glyn Johns fashion and the results were stunning. Some of the best drum sounds I have heard. It can be done in tiny rooms if you put your thinking cap on and use your ears. We recorded our version of Slow Death. The recording should pop up in the next couple weeks.

GOLDEN RUSH EARLY VERSION

This version of Golden Rush was recorded about six months before Black Lives was tracked at Sunset Sound. The Icarus Line had just parted ways with V2 for the first time. Don was promoted to guitar but both him and Alvin were sharing Guitar/Bass duties. This is some of Don's best playing in The Icarus Line.  Kinda the opposite of what is represented on the disintegration document that Black Lives became.  There is actually three fully recorded versions of that record. Hopefully we'll figure out a way of releasing all that material at some point but until then check this out.

IGS Audio - Professional Studio Equipment

To all friends that make records: Check out IGS. Well made, great sounding gear that comes in half the price of the stuff it emulates/recreates. All hand assembled in Poland. A very sick deal on top notch compression for anyone who needs it. I have the SSL style comp and the ONE (La2a) as mentioned below. Both have knocked my socks off so far.

Hot in the Temple of Sounds

Hey LA. Last night was a blast. We came, we saw and then we came some more. But seriously all the bands (that we booked) were awesome. Thanks to The Shining Twins for writing good songs and making people smile. Thanks to Stab City for just being intense and making sure we have to sure that The Icarus Line brings it. Thanks to Travis for making shit happen and Carlton's laugh for making me cry. We will have some more last minute barn burners before the summer is gone after that The Icarus Line head back to UK/Europe for more Damage. Wildlife will be out  in August everywhere. Through all the shit we have brewing another new record is taking shape. Let's get nuts.
